Investigation claims Gov. Deal threatened ethics commission

(WTVM) -

Democrat gubernatorial hopeful Jason Carter is sounding an alarm with the state Ethics Commission in Georgia.

This comes after the head of the commission allegedly wrote a memo accusing Governor Nathan Deal's Office of threatening the agency.

Carter is challenging Deal in the November election. On Tuesday, he said the Governor's office has a pattern of intimidation and interference and is calling for a state investigation.

A spokesperson for the governor says Carter is just "playing politics."
