GA Power holds safety training exercise

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Georgia Power is working to keep its teams safe.

Tuesday, power crews along with Pike Electric Company held a safety presentation for area first responders.

Using a fake squirrel, demonstrators showed how even the slightest touch of a power line can cause major problems for home owners and those working on the lines.

They say this allows workers to better understand the challenges they may face while on duty and have a better knowledge of how to handle problems.
