Students from Shaw High School nationally recognized

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

Students from Shaw High School are nationally recognized in a competition featuring more than 10,000 students from across the country.

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) held its national conference in Nashville where students sharpened their business skills, expanded their networks, and competed in about sixty events.

The Shaw High School students placed third in that event. They also came in fifteenth place in the business financial plan event. Lakesha Kirkland, FBLA student adviser, was very excited about the school's achievement, "We had such a great time. I don't know, they may beg to differ. I just want to say how proud I am of them. They did a very great job."

One student was a finalist in an individual event.  Jacob Hairston came in twelfth place out of potentially thousands of students competing for the title of future business leader, which is the top award given out at the conference.
