FORMER HEAD OF ADVISOR DEVELOPMENT AT MORGAN TO BE PRESIDENT

DARIEN, Conn., July 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Steward Partners Consulting Solutions (SPCS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Steward Partners Holdings LLC, is pleased to announce that Joe Rizzo, former Executive Director and Head of Advanced Financial Advisor Development at Morgan Stanley, has joined the firm as President. Mr. Rizzo spent more than twenty years at Morgan Stanley and its predecessor firms and was responsible for the strategy, design and distribution of professional development to the largest wealth management sales organization in the industry.

"Joe has been responsible for key innovations in advisory team development and practice management over the years," says SPCS CEO Scott Abry. "More importantly, he knows how to integrate growth ideas into large organizations with an eye towards cost efficiency and ease of use.  I can't wait for our clients get the full spectrum of value that Steward Partners Consulting can offer with Joe on board."

Mr. Rizzo developed strong relationships with the elite advisors and their teams at Morgan Stanley that was unusual for a senior manager. His previous group trained and consulted to the firm's best advisors on team development, strategic partnering, and business growth opportunities.

At SPCS, Mr. Rizzo will be responsible for designing strategy, content, and execution support for advisory teams, RIAs, and corporations to use in their business development efforts especially around team succession planning.

"I joined Steward because I believe in their mission and the people. Both Mike and Scott have a vision to solve big problems for the industry. The first thing we agreed to solve is succession planning. Cerulli claims that over 8,600 advisors will reach 68 years old every year for the next 13 years.  Marry that to the level of interest wirehouse advisors have in the RIA channel, and you have massive movements in assets and relationships. We think we can offer people guidance and support for demystifying those decisions."

"I think that Joe's decision to leave Morgan and come work for a new firm says a lot about where the industry is, and where its headed," adds Mike Maurer, CEO of Steward Partners Holdings. "Clearly Joe acknowledges the sea change that's occurring, and feels that he can have a greater impact outside of the wirehouse world than in it. We've seen that sentiment from Advisors and managers, now we're seeing it from senior management. Its an affirmation that times have changed!"
