Don’t be a wiener… it’s National Hot Dog Day!

(WTVM) -

These days, there's a month or a day for just about everything, and today is no exception. It's National Hot Dog Day!

Whether you love an all beef frank with mustard, relish and onions, or just some ketchup, chili and cheese, today is the day to grab a bite and celebrate.

"I knew it is National Hot Dog Day but she didn't and I made her come lunch with me and eat Dinglewood dog today… it is another day to me," said customers Leanna Andrews with Paige Siegel.

The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council designates July 23 as National Hot Dog Day.

Experts say Americans eat roughly about seven billion hot dogs during the summer months.
