TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

DJ equipment worth thousands of dollars was stolen from a Toledo who volunteers his time to entertain at community events and benefits.

Quentin Stewart says he just wants his computer back so he can keep helping the community.

Stewart says he got home late on Saturday after working an event. Tired and ready for bed, he left his equipment locked in the trunk of his car. He says he thought it would be safe there because it was out of sight, but when he woke up, he found his car had been broken into and his laptop, speakers and headphones were all gone.

While the financial loss is a big one, Stewart says he's most upset about the hours of work he put in for events that are now gone.

"I lost countless hours of my life in preparation, you know, staying up from 9 p.m. to 3 in the morning preparing all that music," he said. "I'd pay for my stuff back if I could get it back, especially my Macbook."

Stewart says he is trying to find a way to keep his plans to DJ at some events in the Willys Park area, like an upcoming parade and Halloween event for kids, but right now he says he's not sure how that's possible.

Anyone with information on who may be responsible for this theft is asked to call police.
