Oxbow Meadows offering Pet CPR classes

CPR is not just a life-saving technique for humans. It can also be useful when saving our furry friends.

Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center held classes on Saturday, July 26, to assist pet owners who may become faced with animal emergencies.

The Southeastern Remote Medical Training Group was on hand to show participants the best way to help their pet if they start to choke, if they are poisoned, and with several other emergency scenarios.

Another session will be held at Oxbow Meadows on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and again from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Pre-registration required, and class size is limited to 10. A registration fee of $50 includes certification through American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), valid for two years. Portion of proceeds donated to PAWS Humane of Columbus.

Register by calling Oxbow Meadows at 706-507-8550.
