(CNN) - The chairmen of the House and Senate Veterans Affairs committees have reached a tentative agreement on a bill to reform the VA health system, according to aides of the two chairmen - Sen. Bernie Sanders and Congressman Jeff Miller.

The agreement is a fix to recent reports of delays in care for veterans at VA medical facilities.

The preliminary reform deal comes just days before Congress is scheduled to leave on its August recess. It still needs to be approved by both the House and Senate.

Sanders and Miller have planned a Monday news conference to outline the agreement.
