Bossier Little League Softball heading to World Series!

Posted: Updated:
WACO, TX (KSLA) - The 12 and under Louisiana Little League softball team shut out Texas West 7-0 to win the 2014 Southwest Region Little League Softball Championship. The all-stars from Bossier, Louisiana took advantage of a couple of two out single in the first inning to grab the early lead and pitcher Raelin Chaffin made that pay off by shutting out Texas West by allowing only six hits.

Madison Ennis led Louisiana hitting with a single, a ground rule double and two rbi. She and Caroline Easom both scored twice and Koutnee White had a triple in three trips to the plate.

Texas West had a chance to answer the Louisiana two run first in the bottom of the inning as an error and two singles loaded the bases, but Chaffin coaxed a comebacker to the mound to end the threat.

Louisiana will now head to Portland, Oregon for the Little League Softball World Series. They are the second Louisiana softball team to represent the Southwest Region at that tournament. Evangeline Little League of New Iberia advance to the event in 2005.
