MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The WMBF First Alert Weather team was out at the Beach Church Thursday, July 31 for the first annual WMBF First Alert Hurricane Expo!

If didn't make it out, you're in luck - thanks to BeachChurch Live, we are streamed and recorded video of the complete event!

Watch it in the video player above, or click here to view on Ustream.tv.

The family-friendly event was held at Beach Church on July 31.

Several organizations played a role in the expo, including:

· WMBF News & WMBF First Alert Weather Team

· National Weather Service

· Horry County EMS

· Red Cross

· Home Depot

Important issues were discussed. The National Weather Service spoke on the impacts of Hurricanes Hazel and Hugo in our area. This is the 60th anniversary of Hazel and 25th anniversary of Hugo.

Horry County Emergency Management members were in attendance. Director Randy Webster discussed evacuation routes and policies of our area.

Shelters and preparedness was the focus among Red Cross organizers.

In addition to the presentations and discussions, there was a Q&A session, and a raffle for prizes included weather radios, WMBF First Alert gear, and a complete hurricane kit.

Thank you to everyone who came out to this event, and we look forward to seeing you next year!
