TROUP COUNTY, GA (WTVM) -

An arrest was made in the case of an Armed Robbery that occurred almost exactly one year ago in Troup County.

On July 25, 2013, an unknown white male suspect pointed a handgun at a cashier at Hog Heaven on West Point Rd., and demanded money. The suspect fled the location with an undetermined amount of cash.

Still images and surveillance footage of the robbery were released shortly after the incident, and investigators began receiving dozens of tips from the public.

Troup county Sheriff's Office investigators say they recently received very credible information related to the case leading to 43-year-old James Christopher Jenkins of Auburn, Ala. as the suspect.

Jenkins was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery. He is currently being held in the Lee County Jail in Alabama, awaiting extradition to Troup County, Ga.

Troup County Sheriff James Woodruff credits investigators, help from the Auburn Police Division, and the public for providing information.
