MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - Students in the Muscogee County School District will begin school on August 7.
MCSD Superintendent Dr. David Lewis says the district is ready to start the new school year.
"We're looking forward to a great year, we have a brand new elementary school opening up, Dorothy Height Elementary, we're excited about that as well as the many initiatives we have in place going forward," Lewis said.
Three new school workers will start their first day on August 7 as well. Penny Bowman is the new principal of Blackmon Road Middle School, Shermaine Derrick is the new principal of Eddy Middle School and La Christa McQueen is the new director of the Woodall program.
