Scott’s Miracle Riders surprise Columbus teen cancer patient

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A local cancer patient got a big surprise Thursday from some folks with big hearts.

Scott Ressmeyer and his Miracle Riders got together today to present an iPad and a money donation to Heith Holland.

The teen is a patient at the children's hospital at Midtown Medical Center.

Thirty-six riders worked together to raise the money to help make Holland's day a little brighter.

"Big big surprise for me you know, it was awesome and they're really great people and that's what I just want to be," Holland said.

"Can you imagine being 18 years old sitting in a hospital bed knowing that you've been diagnosed with cancer and you know you think about I'm 18 and I have my whole life in front of me and you can bring a little bit of joy," Ressmeyer said.

Scott and the rest of the Miracle Riders do a cross-country motorcycle ride each year to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network.
