CHENGDU, China, Aug. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- According to information released by the Press Office of Sichuan Provincial People's Government, the First Sichuan International Travel Expo (SCITE) will be held in the City of Leshan, a tourist city that boasts the dual natural and cultural world heritage sites of Mt. Emei and Leshan Giant Buddha, on September 26-29, 2014, and is co-sponsored by Leshan Municipal People's Government, the Tourism Administration of Sichuan Province, and Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs. The trade fair is the most important tourism theme event of Sichuan this year. The expo will be billed as a professional tourism exhibition brand and as one of the three largest professional fairs of Sichuan Province with the "Tech Fair" and "Food and Drinks Fair," promoting Sichuan as a strong tourism economy and a world tourist destination.
The Expo will be held in the mode of "buyers holding trade talks with sellers face-to-face in sequence and business talks be arranged in advance," and preferential policies will be offered by tourist attractions in Sichuan Province to motivate exhibitors to participate in business talks and discuss purchase contracts. A gross exhibition area of 58,000 square meters is available for tourist product trade, travel commodity trade, tourism image shows, Internet exhibitions, theme events, and supporting events. A series of events will be held simultaneously, including the 5th China International Self-driving Tour Trade Fair themed "Smart Tourism-Start from Leshan," "Summit Forum on Global New Patterns of Tourism Industry Development," and "Sichuan Tourism Project Investment Promotion." It is expected that 400,000 visitors will visit the trade expo and about RMB100 billion worth of tourism investment and trade will be carried out.
