COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

You might remember Jasper Sanks.

A Columbus native and a graduate from Carver High School, Sanks was a UGA football player with dreams of making it big. But somewhere along the way, something went wrong.

Now he is working on a documentary to tell the whole story. It's called "Inches Away", and it details Sanks' journey to college football and follows his eventual dismissal from the UGA football team.

Sanks hopes the documentary will inspire the next generation to follow their dreams and take their goals to the next level. It is expected to be released in October. There will be a private viewing in Columbus.

Sanks currently works as an engineer on an oil field in Houston. He says the job has been good for him, but he still misses the football field.
