COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - On Monday, students across the Fountain City were given school supplies personally delivered by St. Francis Hospital.
This is the second year awareness team volunteers have hit the street to deliver baskets and boxes full of things like pens, protractors, binders, crayons, and almost anything you can think of that a student would need.
"And I believe that we've doubled the school supplies that we've collected so it's going to be very successful going forward," said Phelecia Jackson, chair of the Mission Awareness Team.
Backpacks were also stuffed with the help of students from St. Anne Pacelli School.
The supplies were donated to the House of Mercy, Damascus Way, Hope Harbor, Open Door, and Eddy Middle School.
