Rep. Mo Brooks: Democrats are waging 'war on whites'

(WAFF) - Alabama Congressman Mo Brooks says he thinks Democrats are waging what he calls a "war on whites."

Brooks made the comments on the Laura Ingraham radio show on Monday afternoon.

The two were talking about last week's immigration bill failing to come to a vote.

Brooks said Senator Jeff Session deserves credit for blocking what he considered a flawed bill. After that, however, things took a controversial turn.

Ingraham asked Brooks about recent statement made by a National Journal writer who said Republicans will never win over Latino voters.

"This is a part of the war on whites that's being launched by the Democratic Party," said Brooks. "And the way in which they're launching this war is by claiming that whites hate everybody else. It's part of the strategy that Barack Obama implemented in 2008, continued in 2012, where he divides us all on race, on sex, greed, envy, class warfare, all those kinds of things. And if you look at the polling data, well that's not true."

Ingraham seemed alarmed by the statement, and asked if Brooks wanted to rephrase it, but he declined.
