Columbus pastor speaks about mission trip to Israel

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL (WTVM) -

Indirect Israeli-Palestinian negotiations are underway right now in Cairo.

Officials are discussing an extension of the ceasefire in the Gaza strip and ending a blockade of the territory.

Meanwhile, a delegation of church pastors from the United States just flew to Israel on a mission to show American support for the people at war.

Among them is Pastor Jay Bailey from Solid Rock Assembly of God in Columbus.  He spoke to us from Jerusalem to tell us why he's there.

"One pastor from every state, on three days' notice, decided to fly to Israel to demonstrate our love and support, and solidarity with Israel and the Jewish people," said Pastor Bailey. "Everywhere we've gone, people have expressed incredible appreciation for our coming to be with them in this time."

We will hear more from Pastor Bailey and this exclusive interview coming up tonight on News Leader 9 at 11.
