Auburn practices for emergency situations on campus


Auburn University is nowready for emergencies after testing readiness plans at their medical clinic.

The Department of PublicSafety and Security briefly closed the clinic to perform emergency tests in theevent of an active shooter on campus. 

The exercise also involvedthe City of Auburn police and local emergency medical services.

One official says, "The police department responded veryquickly, and made contact with the actor suspect and took care of that problem,and our employees with the medical clinic acted very quickly and went to thetraining they had. And I think the training would have proved today that, ifthis would have been a real event, to have really saved some lives."  

This exercise was to helpensure all agencies are prepared for any emergency that might happen.
