Pioneer goes 4-0 in LLSWS pool play

The Pioneer All-Stars completed running the table in pool play at the Little League Softball World Series on Monday afternoon with a 14-4 win in four innings over the Europe/Africa Region Champs from Prague, Czech Republic.

Raelee Weaver was double trouble for Pioneer, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored at the plate, and picking up the win in relief, pitching 2.2 hitless innings and striking out six of the eight batters she faced.

Pioneer scored twice in the first, but Prague responded with four runs in the second inning off of starting pitcher Samantha Cotton.

After Weaver came in to shut down the Prague offense, Pioneer responded with eight runs in the bottom of the innings, including a two-run single by Weaver, and a bases-clearing, three-run double by Mary Head to make it 10-4.

The World Series championship game is set for Wednesday at 9:00 pm ET in Portland, Ore.
