Congratulations and Farewell to WTVM’s Chandi Lowry!

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

WTVM morning news co-anchor Chandi Lowry is heading to her home state of Pennsylvania to join the news team at WFMZ in Allentown. Chandi, who recently got married, will be moving north with her husband in the next few weeks.

Chandi has co-anchored the morning news at WTVM for the past two years. Prior to joining News Leader 9, Chandi's career began as a news cut-in producer for WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh, then as a morning show producer for WYTV in Youngstown, OH, and later as a reporter for WTOV in Steubenville, OH.

She then joined Raycom Media, which owns WTVM and dozens of other stations nationwide. Chandi first worked at Raycom's WMBF in Myrtle Beach, SC, before joining Chuck Leonard on our anchor desk from 5:00am to 7:00am every weekday morning. In addition, Chandi regularly files reports for WTVM News Leader 9 on consumer issues such as product recalls, buying trends and new products.

Chandi Lowry won the 2013 Best TV Personality Award for the Georgia Association of Broadcasters. She says she was honored by the recognition, but Chandi says what matters most is the friends she has made in the Columbus area and the opportunity to work for the viewers every morning.

Chandi says the best part of being a journalist is "affecting others in a positive way and being able to find out valuable information and give that knowledge to those who would otherwise not have the chance to learn about it."

Chandi's last day on air with us at WTVM is this Friday, August 15.

We all wish Chandi the best as she heads for her new career challenge in Pennsylvania.
