COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Boys and Girls Club of the Chattahoochee Valley is working a brand new campaign. It's called the "Great Futures Campaign" and Boys and Girls Club CEO Rodney Close is here to tell us more about it.
About 15 million children don't have a place to go after school. The Boys and Girls club offers a place for these so-called "latchkey kids" so they can have the parental supervision and positive role models that children need growing up. Kids who don't have anywhere or anyone to go home to are more likely to get into trouble with the law or at school.
The Boys and Girls Club focuses on enriching children in three core areas – academic, healthy lifestyle, and character development. All children ages 6 to 18 are welcome to participate in their programs.
