Ericsson, Huawei, and Alcatel-Lucent Hold Top LTE Rankings
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- A recently published report by Dell'Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the networking and telecommunications industries, reveals that the worldwide Radio Access Network (RAN) market advanced at a double-digit rate in the second quarter 2014, recording its strongest year-over-year growth rate since the third quarter of 2011.
"The same phenomenon that transpired in advanced LTE markets such as Canada, Japan, Korea, and the U.S., with service providers competing to complete LTE coverage, is now being emulated in China and parts of Europe," said Stefan Pongratz, Director of Dell'Oro Group's RAN and Small Cells research. "We estimate that the LTE rollouts in Europe almost offset declining legacy technologies, while the 4G rollouts in China were the greatest contributor to the worldwide RAN growth in the first half of this year. The total RAN market excluding APAC declined at a high single-digit rate in the first half of 2014," continued Pongratz.
