KALAMAZOO, MI (RNN) – The Western Michigan football team gave a former player's son more than just a legacy membership to the squad.

In a YouTube video posted Aug. 18 called “A Bronco Touchdown worth more than points,” the Broncos football team welcomed John, the son of former Broncos linebacker Sean Mulhearn.

John, who is in a wheelchair and one of the program's biggest fans, took part in situational drills with the team on Aug. 14. His father guided him to a touchdown, with the team rallying around them to celebrate.

The Broncos, who finished 1-11 in the Mid-American Conference in 2013, miss having a Mulhearn on their squad. Sean Mulhearn was the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 1990, and was also a member of the Broncos 1988 conference championship team.

The close-knit team closed the video with its mantra of F.A.M.I.L.Y., which they define as “forget about me, I love you.”
