This just in to our newsroom tonight: Auburn football fans won't get a shot at Harvey Updyke after all.
The organizers of a September 29 charity event in Mobile, Alabama, have cancelled Updyke's appearance for a pie throw or dunking booth. That's according to a report by ESPN.
Updyke served jail time last year in 2013 for poisoning the historic oaks at Toomer's corner in Auburn.
Updyke's appearance at the charity event was cancelled tonight after Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron's mother, Dee Dee Bonner, and wife Katherine received death threats and other ugly messages on social media.
