PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) -

Convicted murderer Curtis Newsome has been sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for the death of his girlfriend, Caneya Webb, and her unborn child.

Webb was found dead in her Phenix City apartment on July 1, 2013.

Newsome said at the sentencing, "I understand and I want you to forgive me even though I don't deserve forgiveness... I know nobody has sympathy for what I did... I hope that I can change and be a better person. Even though everybody's looking at me like I have no remorse I'm asking for forgiveness."
