COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus friends, family members and firefighters come together for a good cause tonight, August 26.
Tonight was the Muscular Dystrophy Show of Strength premiere party at the Columbus Firefighter Association building on Lynch Road in Columbus. So far, thousands of dollars have been raised.
"A lot of ppl would think a dollar or two doesn't matter. It does when you add it among another dollar or two here and there. And the research they are doing seems to be helping and MDA does help me a lot with equipment and other little stuff that i wouldn't be able to handle on my own," says Donna Latner, who suffers from muscular dystrophy.
This is all leading up to the 49th annual MDA telethon on WTVM this Sunday, August 31, from 9 PM to 11 PM.
The telethon will raise funds and awareness to support MDA's mission to save and improve the lives of children and adults fighting the disease.
