Customer 'zapped' by stun gun during Phoenix PD arrest

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A shopper was inadvertently zapped by a Phoenix police officer's stun gun as officers arrested a man and woman they said stole a motorcycle Wednesday.

The couple were chased by Phoenix police officers into the parking lot of the store near 43rd Avenue and Camelback Road, where the suspect bailed, Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said.

The woman was caught and officers chased the man into the store, Martos said.

An officer fired his stun gun, but the suspect performed a "Matrix" move, avoiding the prongs which then struck a man shopping in the store, Martos said.

The man was shaken, but not hurt, Martos said.

The suspect was eventually taken into custody.

No other information was available.
