(WTVM) - The Georgia Department of Public Safety has released a tally of the number of people who died in crashes over the holiday weekend.
During the 78-hour holiday travel period, there were 10 fatalities on Georgia roads.
One of those was in Columbus, which claimed the life of a 29-year-old man. Columbus police are still investigating this incident.
Georgia state highway officials tell us there were also 10 fatalities on Georgia highways during the same time last year.
