COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Guess what Columbus? It's back! The 8th Annual "Paint Columbus Pink®" is a series of events including Shop & Dine for a Cause, Pink Pooch Contest, Light of Life Ceremony, Power in Prayer, Bright Pink Lipstick Day, "Forget Me Knots" Pink Bow Campaign, all in support of  Cancer Awareness.

The public is invited to attend a meeting on how to form a Team for Paint Columbus Pink, Foam & Obstacle Challenge for Cancer Awareness. Valuable information will be discussed as well as ideas on Team Recruitment.  Volunteers are currently being recruited to help serve on various committees and sub-committees. The meeting will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.  on Thursday, Sept. 4 at the Cunningham Leadership Center, located at 3100 Gentian Boulevard (near Peachtree Mall and across the street from Burger King.)

Plus, are you ready to play in foam? How about tackling a few obstacles? Paint Columbus Pink has a new addition and twist this year:  the Paint Columbus Pink Foam and Obstacle Challenge! You can walk, run, jog, dance, skip and play across miles of absolute fun!  Whether you're a great athlete, casual walker or just like to have fun, you will be engaged along the entire high energy course as you charge through obstacles, inflatable's, slides and foam! All fitness levels welcome!  Skip, dance or jog through the foam clouds and have fun with friends and loved ones as you make memories in this once in a lifetime frothy experience.  A great reason to come out and have fun while doing something healthy for yourself… and also helping to fight cancer! This is the first Foam and Obstacle Challenge event in our area, and it takes place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Cascade Hills, located at 727 54th Street in Columbus.

Paint Columbus Pink- Pink Up The Pace runners and walkers had a great time last year at the Flash Night Run, inspired many  and represented all sectors of our community, to include friends, neighbors, families, clergy, healthcare workers, teachers, bankers, realtors, teens, mothers, grandmothers, military families, nurses, colleges, television and radio personalities, firemen, police, small business, large corporations, and so many more.

Paint Columbus Pink is quickly developing into a rich heritage for community business leaders and individuals that know the positive results the events produce. This is certainly one of the most anticipated annual events in Columbus. Paint Columbus Pink!

Paint Columbus Pink is "Tickled Pink" and proud to announce their local charity partners for the October events will be the Cancer Society and the Schryl Carden Breast Cancer Foundation. All monies stay local!
