Lightning strike causes church fire

The storms caused more problems than just flooding across the valley today.

Officials believe a lightning strike on a transformer sparked the fire which caused some damage to "One Way Deliverance" church.

The building is located off Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Columbus.

Witnesses say the smoke was so thick, first responders had to block-off the street.

"The pole was smoking and then as the pole started smoking it got thicker and thicker. The transformers, they saw it sizzling real bad and we called 911," says witness Richard Wilson.

Luckily, no one was hurt in this fire. Columbus fire marshal Ricky Shores says there was $30,000 worth of damage to the building.
