AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - Auburn resident, Jerry Shiparski, is a Chicken Salad Chick regular.
"Friendly service, great chicken salad, I have plenty to choose from and I never get the same thing, so it's always something new."
Now residents in Lee County the love the chick, can continue to experience something new when the restaurant open its new flagship store on Opelika Road later this month.
"We will be testing all new products and new technologies through the location. So we're proud because Auburn and Opelika have supported us so well, now Auburn and Opelika are going to help shape the direction of the concept," says Founder, Stacy Brown.
It a concept that started in Brown's kitchen and in nearly seven years has grown into an empire and an Auburn staple.
Chicken Salad Chick has 23 locations across the southeast, and more are on the horizon.
"We're proud and glad that it started here. We're very grateful and it is an Auburn tradition, we want it to be an Auburn tradition," explains Brown.
By closing the original Chicken Salad Chick on Opelika Road and the location on Frederick Road, the new 3,000 square foot store will provide much easier access, longer hours and a state-of- the-art training facility.
"The beginning was in my kitchen, but the real storyline is the growth because of all the people involved," says Brown.
Even with all this success, Brown and her team are dedicated to giving back to the community that helped her.
The group just launched the Chicken Salad Chick Foundation which supports multiple hunger initiatives and the American Cancer Society, a group dear to her and her husband, Kevin's heart, who is currently battling stage four colon cancer.
"The greatest part about this is being able to give back like we've never been in a position to do before, so that is even more rewarding," explains Brown.
The new Chicken Salad Chick flagship store is set to open September 23.
