Dogs hang by the pool with party for charity

MADISON, WI (WOW/CNN) – Watch out for wet pooches!

Hundreds of dogs and their owners took over a Madison, WI pool party on Sunday; the annual CapitalAKK-9's Dog Paddle raises money for the police department's canine unit.

The "pooch patrol" is completely funded by donations. The money pays for the dogs and their training, as well as veterinarian care and other expenses.

Organizers expect to raise about $9,000 from the event.

Madison's Capital K-AK's holds otherfundraiser'ss throughout the year on dry land.
