COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - An accident near Ladonia sent one woman to the hospital and tied up traffic in the area for a while.
It happened on highway 80 around 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Authorities say a car crashed head-on with a semi truck. The driver of the car was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital. News Leader 9 talked to Zachary Farley, an army sergeant who was among the first on the scene and helped pull the woman from the car.
"Came out the store, look down, the truck was on the ditch. The black car was side of the road, about to pull her out she said her stomach hurt. I went to EMS, EMS got her out they say she's going to be okay," says Farley.
The name and condition of the driver have not been released. The driver of the semi was not hurt. No word on if the accident is weather related.
