FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) - The fourteenth annual Army International Sniper Competition is in full effect at Fort Benning.
A field full of 36 two-man teams from around the world kicked off the competition Monday, Oct. 20.
It started with the ‘cop the fence' day and night shoot, and they also conducted a pistol competition, as well as a competition that tested their limits.
Staff Sergeant Matthew Fox says all the participants are doing well so far.
"Everybody that's come here has done exceptionally well, they've all put forth a great effort… we have teams from all branches of service,” Sgt. Fox explained. “We have five international teams, we have teams from law enforcement and everybody here has competed to an outstanding level so far and everybody's done a great job and they're all in the runnings at this point."
The event is open to the public, and there is no admission fee.
