2 Columbus juveniles attempt to perform cruel acts on a dog

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Two male juveniles playing with fire tried to hurt their neighbor's dog on Saturday at 12:11 p.m.on the 300 block of 29th Avenue, according to a police report.

The report states a 59-year-old female neighbor called police and complained about a 12-year-old boy and 15-year-old boy using an aerosol can and a lighter to make a "blow torch."

Authorities say the 15-year-old took the aerosol can and lighter and walked over to the neighbor's fence and aimed the "blow torch" at her 9-month-old dog.

The neighbor saw the 15-year-old holding the fire about one foot away from the dog's face, but he ran away once he saw the neighbor standing in her yard.

The neighbor did not want to press charges against the juveniles and signed a waiver of prosecution.
