COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Columbus Civic Center is doing its part to help in the fight against breast cancer with its "Paint the Lobby Pink" initiative.
In exchange for donations, the civic center would put up a pink ribbon in its lobby with the donor's name. By the end of the campaign the walls and windows in the lobby of the civic center were completely covered.
Organizers say they are proud to be a part of such an important campaign.
"It make me feel great to apart of this campaign," said Lisa Thomas-Cutts with the Columbus Civic Center. "Breast Cancer touches everyone in some form. Whether it's a family member or a neighbor it just reaches out. Being able to help in just some form. We are really about it."
On Monday they were able to donate nearly $42,000 in donations to the West Central Georgia Cancer Coalition.
