(WTVM) - It doesn't have to be Veterans Day to honor the men and women who serve this country.
Golden Corral honored veterans by hosting its 14th Annual Military Appreciation Dinner. From 5-9 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, Golden Corral restaurants across the nation thanked thousands of active duty and retired United States military personnel for their service by offering them a free meal and drink.
The line at the Columbus restaurant was wrapped around the building, and the restaurant's parking lot was full.
"Well it's just our way of saying thank you," explained General Manager John Gilbert. "We've done it for 14 years now. We have the DAV out to help out and just saying thank you for everything they've done to let us be able to do this for them."
Cheerleaders from Columbus Lions helped serve the meals to the vets.
The restaurant chain also collected donations for disabled American veterans.
