(WTVM) - Each year, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is seen by millions of people around the world, including those right here in the Chattahoochee Valley.
This year there is a new Aflac giant float in the big parade in New York City, which puts the famous duck in ice skates. But for many cancer survivors and their families, the Aflac duck has a special meaning.
It represents the ongoing campaign in the fight against childhood cancers. In fact, Aflac designed their annual holiday plush duck to look just like the one we'll see in Thursday's parade.
Columbus-based Aflac has supported the fight against childhood cancer for nearly 20 years, donating more than $90 million towards research and treatment.
You can purchase the new holiday ducks at
or at your local participating Macy's store. All the net proceeds go to the children's hospital closest to our area.
