COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A Columbus man linked to several church burglaries in the city has been sentenced.
Preston Kennedy pleaded guilty in Superior Court on Tuesday, Dec. 2, and was sentenced to two years in prison. He also received 15 years' probation.
The burglaries happened
Columbus police say Kennedy was shown in surveillance photos, stealing a television from a church.
Kennedy's attorney told News Leader 9 her client has written letters of apology to all the churches he burglarized. In those letters, Kennedy explains he's working on getting his life back together.
