An Auburn University student is recovering from the injury suffered after being struck by an SUV in downtown Auburn.
Police say a 32-year-old Auburn University student was hit by a large SUV December 4, around 6 PM.
It was dark, and the student was trying to cross near Cheeburger Cheeburger.
The student was flown to Columbus Regional Medical Center.
The victim is expected to recover and at this point, it appears the SUV driver will not be facing charges.
In recent years, the city of Auburn has added more crosswalks, flashing lights and even digital signs warning drivers to be careful around campus.
Chief Register says those extra safety efforts have cut down on the number of vehicle - pedestrian accidents.
