NEW YORK (WTVM) – Time magazine has narrowed down its list of candidates to eight people for its 2014 Person of The Year.
This year's nominees include: Apple CEO Tim Cook, Alibaba founder Jack Ma, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iraqi Kurdish President Massoud Barzani, and singer Taylor Swift.
Also making the list are the Ebola caregivers and the Ferguson, Missouri protesters.
Apple CEO Tim Cook is on the list this year as Steve Jobs' successor and for revealing that he is gay.
Taylor Swift makes this list this year after releasing her hit album, 1989, being named the 2014 Billboard Woman of the Year. She also made a bold move in pulling all of her music off of Spotify.
Previous winners include: Pope Francis (2013), President Barack Obama (2012), The Protesters (2011), Mark Zuckerberg (2010), and Ben Bernanke (2009).
The 2014 Time Person of the Year will be announced Wednesday morning.
