CMABJ, NAACP's second roundtable on officer-involved shootings Thursday night

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Columbus-Metro Association of Black Journalists will host a second town-hall/media roundtable on officer-involved killings and media coverage Thursday night.

The roundtable, in partnership with the NAACP, will include local attorneys, law enforcement personnel and city council members who will discuss the recent incidents concerning officers and persons of color.

The event is open to the public. A list of confirmed panelists include:

  • Mayor Teresa Tomlinson
  • Muscogee County Marshal Greg Countryman
  • Columbus Police Department Maj. Freddie Blackmon
  • Attorney Katonga Wright of the Wright Leagal Group
  • Nate Sanderson of the NAACP

Invitations have been extended to Sheriff Jon Darr and CPD Police Chief Ricky Boren. Others will also be on hand to join the discussion.

The event starts at 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Columbus State University's Davidson Auditorium.
