COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - U.S. HealthWorks, a leading operator of occupational healthcare and urgent care centers nationwide, announced Tuesday, Dec. 16 it has acquired Acute Care Express medical clinic in Columbus.
The acquisition will be the sixth center acquired this year in Georgia, now making a total of seven U.S. HealthWorks centers in the state.
With its proximity to the Alabama border, the clinic also serves patients from those neighboring communities. The new location gives U.S. HealthWorks 219 centers and worksites in 19 states.
Acute Care Express, located at 7901 Veterans Parkway, was previously owned and operated by Inphynet Contracting Services Inc., a health care management organization based in south Florida.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Acute Care Express will continue to offer a wide range of urgent care and occupational medicine services, including diagnosis and treatment of injuries and illnesses, travel immunizations, vision screening, X-rays and laboratory services.

The Columbus center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Both occupational medicine and urgent care services are available during these hours.
