FORT STEWART, GA (WTVM) - The next time you're at Fort Stewart, Ga., you may want to pay a visit to the Warriors Walk.
It's a tree-lined walkway, dedicated to troops from the Third Infantry Division who made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Members of the Wounded Warrior Project recently toured the memorial.
"It's very humbling to know that not only the Fort Stewart Community, but the community outside Fort Stewart, supports the military so much and has honored these brave young men and women for their service and their sacrifice," said member Erick Millette.
Eastern redbuds have been planted in honor of the fallen soldiers, and over the years family members have placed sentimental items at the base of the trees to represent their loved ones.
