Harvey Updyke facing more jail time if he doesn't pay up

AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - A judge has told Harvey Updyke that he faces arrest if he does not pay $700 in restitution for poisoning the oak trees at Toomer's Corner in Auburn in 2011.

The payments are court-ordered, and the judge says Updyke is willfully in contempt.

Half of the $700 is due by Jan. 9, 2015.

Updyke was ordered to pay nearly $800,000 to Auburn University in an earlier court settlement.
