COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Some families received toys and bikes for their little ones just in time for the holidays.
The 100 Black Men of Columbus partnered with Legacy Chevrolet to hand out the donated items to children who are less fortunate.
The kids were able to pick up the toys Monday afternoon at the car dealership on Manchester Expressway.
Organizers say they've been doing this event for three years and it's important for families to have what they need especially during this time of year.
"To make sure some kids that are not able and the parents are not able to give them something that they want for Christmas and also to give them some food and stuff just to be able to show that we are being able to do something in the community to help raise their wellness for help we need help in the community," said Tommie Chambers, president of 100 Black Men of Columbus.
About 30 families received gifts and food. Santa was also on hand to spread some holiday cheer.
