COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Even though millions have signed up, there is still a lot of confusion about the new Affordable Care Act.
On January 7, Valley Health Columbus held a question and answer session at South Lumpkin library to educate folks about deadlines and information they need to know.
The group stressed to audiences the February 15 deadline, in which those who don't have health insurance will be penalized if they aren't covered, unless they have special enrollment or circumstances.
"People are paying attention little bit about the penalty, people are wondering what kind of plans are available what kind of plans are available what the plans cover is it real insurance or is it just fake insurance but it is really insurance so we reassuring about a thing," says Terry Butler of Certified Application Counselors.
The meeting provided an overview of the health insurance marketplace, categories, and plans available.
H & R Block is providing free counseling on how the Affordable Care Act could affect your taxes tomorrow, January 8, from 9 AM to 9 PM.
