COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Two Muscogee County School Board members who oppose renewal of the "SPLOST" tax are working to get others to say no.
Frank Myers and John Thomas spoke out earlier this week at a school board work session saying Muscogee County voters should not approve the tax until an audit is conducted of the district's finances.
They are contributing to a website and Facebook page called "No-School-Board-Tax" trying to get others involved in the "anti-SPLOST" movement.
The superintendent wants voters to renew the one-cent tax to help fund school improvements.
The school board is scheduled to vote on the issue Tuesday, January 20.
