Lanett standoff suspect surrenders peacefully

LANETT, AL (WTVM) - A two hour standoff at a Lanett graveyard Friday, Jan. 16 ended with no injuries or casualties.

Lanett police say on Friday night, an acquaintance of Alton Seville reported to police he was suicidal and armed. 

Officers located Seville in Valley, Ala. where he proceeded to lead agents with Lanett police, Valley and the Chambers County Sheriff's Department in a pursuit from Valley to a graveyard in Lanett. 

After a two hour standoff, Seville surrendered to police without incident.  A rifle was recovered in his vehicle. 

He was transported to the East Alabama Medical Center for evaluation. No charges have been filed at this time.
